Warli
Warli, is an ancient form of tribal art observed in Maharashtra, India. This artform dates back to 2500-3000 BCE and predominantly depicts the lifestyle and beliefs of Warli tribe. It is characterized by its simplicity and geometric shapes that convey a sense of harmony and balance.
This art form has received recognition for its unique style, simplicity, and eco-friendliness.
These women artisans take up large wall painting projects at commercial and public places and have become trainers to other artisans.
Pilot was conducted between 2017-18 under the project name 'Women Artisans Skill Enhancement Project (WASEP)
The project name was changed to WAP from 2022-23
